It Didn’t Allow Me’ was influenced by a saying that I read: “Being strong all the time is draining and it’s okay not to be. There’s beauty in the imperfect.”

Neo Mahlangu

Neo Mahlangu is a sought-after contemporary fine artist and designer based in Johannesburg. Her work focuses on illustrations, graphic design and art direction. She straddles the lines between socially aware fine art that inspires conversation or provokes introspection; and graphic design that is urban-cool, conscious and celebratory. She is the 2017 Cassirer Welz Award finalist and was included in the 2018 Design Indaba Emerging Creatives as well as the Absolut One Festival of African Creativity. She is a young artist for and of this time.
