In isiXhosa Incebetha is a well prepared small piece of woven cotton that is used as a bra. It is pinned or adorned with beads. Incebetha is covered by the isikhakha or umbhaco and is a large cotton tunic or blanket draped over the shoulders and wrapped around the body. It is also adorned with beads by a method called urhaswa.
On the head, women wear the iqhiya, which is adorned with beautiful beads. Iqhiya is a cloth that is fitted to the head. Women make necklaces with beads, called intsimbi or amaso, which they wear around their neck. Intsimbi or amaso is also worn around the waist.
They also make for a really fly smart phone cover picture. So next time someone asks about your phone cover you have a really cool story to tell. You can thank us later.
