Recently seen crowning the head of the regal Queen Ramonda played by Angela Basset in the film Black Panther the isicholo is a traditional hat worn as an adornment by mature Zulu women who are either engaged or married. Traditionally made with woven human hair and red ochre it was finished off with two or three beaded headbands called imigingqo.
